Have you ever tried to convince a child that they weren't born until a certain time of day so you shouldn't start their birthday celebration until then? Doesn't work.

I'll have to put up a picture of the cake later. It isn't my best work, but at 10:30 pm my standards generally lower. They all think it is grand and have been discussed the position of the pieces all through breakfast. They do not take after me. Chess makes me snore. Although, the five year old still hasn't beaten me.

We got Addie one of those magnetic penny things with the two big magnets and the coins you can make sculptures out of--Dan had to explain to me that real pennies aren't magnetic. Again, the kids clearly didn't get their science smarts from old mom. We also got him a dominoes set that is just for making tracks to knock over and a wrist rocket and I already forgot what else. Oh, we gave him the tool set we got for setting up a new bank account. We are going to see the movie Bolt later. I hope 3D doesn't make me nauseous. Everything else does.
